Hi, my name is Ben Weber and I love making custom furniture, built-ins, and all types of carpentry and ‘handyman’ type services. I have been doing this for over three decades on a part-time basis while employed at Southwest Research Institute as a Mechanical Engineer (BSME UT Austin) from 1991-October 2014 involved in engine lubricant testing. I’m now a consultant in that area which allows me time to further pursue custom furniture making, built-ins, deck building, handyman services, and all types of carpentry. And when I get bored, I venture out onto the links for a game of golf – one of my other passions. At one time (much younger body) in the 1980’s, I played on the Florida Tour which is like the minor leagues of baseball. Paul Azinger and other now famous PGA stars use to play on this tour before there was the Nike Tour, Buy.Com Tour, etc. During this time I also became a member of the PGA – on the business side, not the playing tour side (darn it!).

Here’s a picture of our current shop I built. It matches the house in terms of bricks, shingles, siding and paint colors. The shop measures 24×28, with the carport portion at 24×20 that is quite useful during those hot Texas summer days here in San Antonio. I also mentor the John Marshall High School Robotics Team
